Perhaps Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was just trying to lull Liverpool into a false sense of security by saying this week that the Champions League was his priority and he'd prefer to pick a weakened team for the Liverpool match.
In Minute of 45+2 Steven Gerrard is the last person you'd expect to make a mistake like that. He can't control a simple pass, slips and Demba Ba robs it immediately, is through one-on-one and calmly finishes. And Just Sujud, simply celebration from BA.
In minute of 90+3 Chelsea break-free as Liverpool commit all men forward. Torres speeds away and has Willian with him. The former Liverpool No 9 waits for Mignolet to rush and touches it to Willian who walks it into the net. And Goallllll
Jose Mourinho run in front of camera and to celebrate in front of Chelsea supporters at Anfield
GOOOOOAL! Real Madrid strike JUST LIKE THAT. It was all Bayern up until this moment. Fabio Coentrao gets in behind the Bayern defense and slides a ball across the box for Benzema to tap in. Madrid up 1-0, against the run of play at home.
Real Madrid look happy to sit on this lead with 15 minutes to play and shut up shop defending the Bayern away goal threat.
The Copa del Rey is to Madrid after Gareth Bale scored one of the best goals of his career to sink Barcelona.
Barcelona was too slow, narrow and predictable in its efforts to breach Real Madrid’s defense, and it didn’t defend well enough — both individually and collectively — to stop their speedy opponents. Each team won three of six previous meetings in the Copa del Rey final. Real Madrid now stands ahead of its rival. The Copa del Rey triumph will boost Real Madrid’s spirit as it chases bigger prizes, namely La Liga and the Champions League. Barcelona was teetering on the brink of crisis coming into the game, having slipped in the league and suffered elimination from the Champions League in the last seven days. Wednesday’s result could consign Barcelona to a trophy-less season and seal Martino’s fate. The embattled Barcelona head coach is losing the fans’ support and defeat in “El Clasico final” could cost him the goodwill of Barcelona’s players and hierarchy.
Full time: Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid That's it! A deserved win for Madrid in a fascinating and increasingly dramatic match. Gareth Bale won it with a thrilling goal, his first against Barcelona, and all his teammates - not to mention Cristiano Ronaldo and ZInedine Zidane, embrace him on the field.
The result ends one of the worst weeks in Barcelona's history, in which they went out of two, probably three competitions. Tata Martino won't be of this job much longer. Still, tonight is more about a memorable triumph for Real Madrid, who still have a chance of their first ever Treble. Thanks for your company; night!
90+2 min A brilliant cross from Alves is headed teasingly across goal, and Pepe just gets there before Neymar to clear for a corner. The keeper Pinto is up, but the corner comes to nothing.
Barcelona and Real Madrid will play in the Spanish Copa Del Rey 2014 Final on Wednesday night, with the two El Clasico teams hoping to claim the title. Especially for Barcelona they might not get another chance this season for silverware, as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid, and are also lagging behind in the race for La Liga. This will be a game they will be desperate to win to salvage their season.

There were fears of a big jump in the number of deaths, as dozens of boats, helicopters and divers scrambled to rescue passengers who had been on the ferry travelling to the southern island of Jeju. One rescued passenger said he believed many people were trapped inside the ferry when it sank. More than 30 navy and coastguard divers are searching the near-sunken ship for survivors, according to emergency officials. Report by Claire Lomas.
